The Municipality of Paralimni–Deryneia announces that, regarding the job postings for ten vacant permanent positions, namely: one Traffic Officer (Class A2-5-7(ii)), one Public Health Officer (Class A8-10-11), one Technical Services Officer (Class A9-11-12), one Municipal Services Officer (European Affairs) (Class A8-10-11), three Assistant Administrative Officers (Class A2-5-7(ii)), and three Technical Engineers (Grade A5-7-8(ii)), the administration and grading of the written examination have been completed; this process was entrusted to the Center for Scientific Training, Evaluation, and Development (KEPEAA) at the University of Cyprus.
In accordance with the recruitment criteria for each position—which have been published and posted on the Municipality’s website—and following a decision by the Municipal Council, the candidates were tested on various topics related to the duties of each position.
According to the law, “passing” and “successful in the written exam” is defined as a person who takes the written exam and achieves an overall average score of at least 50%, as well as at least 40% on each of the topics included in the exam. With regard to the position of Technical Service Officer, where the exam covered a single topic, a person is considered “successful” if they achieved an overall score of at least 50% on the topic that was tested.
The following results can be seen from the lists of results below:
1) In the exams for the position of Traffic Officer, one (1) of the six (6) candidates who took the written exam was deemed successful.
2) In the examinations for the position of Public Health Officer, sixteen (16) of the seventeen (17) candidates who took the written exam were deemed successful.
3) In the examinations for the position of Technical Services Officer, five (5) of the ten (10) candidates who took the written exam were deemed successful.
4) In the examinations for the position of Municipal Service Officer (European Affairs), all six (6) of the six (6) candidates who took the written exam were deemed successful.
5) In the examinations for the three Assistant Administrative Officer positions, eleven (11) of the fourteen (14) candidates who took the written exam were deemed successful.
6) In the examinations for the three Technical Engineer positions, three (3) of the five (5) candidates who took the written exam were deemed successful.
In accordance with the provisions of Law No. 6(I)/1998 and the framework for filling positions, the number of candidates invited to an oral examination is limited to three times the number of vacant positions that have been published.
Therefore, for the one position of Health Officer, one position of Technical Services Officer, and one position of Municipal Services Officer (European Affairs), the number of candidates who will be invited to an oral interview is three (3), and these are the candidates who received the highest scores in the ranking list, in accordance with the applicable legal and institutional framework.
With regard to the three Assistant Administrative Officer positions, the number of candidates who will be invited to an oral interview is nine (9), and these are the candidates who received the highest scores on the ranking list, in accordance with the applicable legal and institutional framework.
With regard to the one Traffic Officer position, the sole candidate who passed the written exam will be invited to the oral exam; and with regard to the three (3) Mechanical Engineer positions, all three successful candidates will be invited to the oral exam.
Candidates to be offered appointment will be selected based on the results of the written exam, the results of the oral exam, additional academic qualifications, experience relevant to the duties of the position, as well as an evaluation by the respective supervisor in accordance with the applicable legal and institutional framework.
The City Council will offer appointments to the candidates who receive the highest total scores in the overall ranking.
