The exercise of the Famagusta Regional Civil Defence Directorate was attended on Saturday 15 March by the Mayor of Paralimniu - Deryneia Mr. George Nicolettos. Specifically, members of the Civil Defence conducted an evacuation exercise of the Centre of Charity and Love (KEPA) Agios Christoforos in Paralimni.

The scenario of the exercise provided for the evacuation of the Centre of Charity and Love (KEPA) Agios Christoforos in Paralimni after a strong earthquake while temporary accommodation, feeding of the residents and a first aid station were created to cover the first needs.

During the conduct of the exercise, the activation/operation of the CEC/PEDPA, the wireless communication of the CEC/PEDPA with the CEC/GEDPA and Departments in the field, the sending and receiving of electronic messages and situations, the provision of first aid in the field and at the first aid station, the provision of food in a temporary restaurant, among other things, were tested, the provision of accommodation in dormitories, the registration of guests, the operation to locate missing persons in cooperation with a rescue dog, the transport of injured persons to the First Aid Station as well as the cooperation of departments in the creation of the temporary accommodation and its operation.
