The Municipality of Paralimni - Derynia informs that the work for the construction of a memorial site for the heroic martyrs Tasos Isaac and Solomos Solomou in Paralimni has begun, where the two martyrs, created by the sculptor Philip Yapanis, will be placed.

Recently the Mayor of Paralimniu - Deryneia Mr. George Nicolettos signed the relevant contracts with Mr. Marios Mastrou, representative of the company that was awarded the relevant tender, Marios Mastrou Construction Ltd.

In his statements, Mr.Nikolettos expressed his satisfaction for the start of the works, stressing that with this project the Municipality aims to preserve the memory of the two heroic martyrs who are victims of the Turkish atrocity at the Deryneia barrier, while the memorial site will be a place of information and preservation of collective memory.
