The province of Famagusta commemorated the National Anniversary of the declaration of the Greek Revolution of 1821 with great pomp. The celebrations culminated in the Municipality of Paralimniu - Deryneia where the Anniversary of the National War of Independence was celebrated with praise and parades.

The Famagusta Provincial Parade took place at 11 am along the 1st of April Avenue, in which more than two thousand people participated in formations representing military units, public and private schools, scouts, Sunday school congregations and associations as well as banners of the Municipalities and Communities of the free and occupied Famagusta province.

During the parade, the Symphonic Band "Harmony" of the Municipality of Paralimniu - Deryneia played.

The greeting of the parade was received together with the Mayor of Paralimniu - Dherynia Mr. George Nicolettos and the Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta Mr. Basil, the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy Mr. Nicodemus Damianou, who represented the President of the Republic of Cyprus at the celebrations of Famagusta and delivered the Panegyric of the day. 

Previously, a Panhellenic Doxology was held at the Metropolitan Church of St. George of Paralimni, presided over by Metropolitan Basil of Constantia and Famagusta.

Early in the morning, a traditional parade was held by the Catechetical Conferences of Saint George, Saint Demetrios and Saint Barbara of Paralimni as well as the 21st Sea Scout System and the 291st Air Scout System of Paralimni, who then performed together with a military procession and the Symphonic Band "Harmony" of the Municipality of Paralimnii - Dheryneia the Flag Raising Ceremony at the Municipal Hall of Paralimnii - Dheryneia.

It is noted that the Pan-Democratic Celebration for the National Anniversaries of March 25 and April 1 will take place on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 19:30 in the Hall of Events of the Town Hall of Paralimnii - Deryneia. The artistic program and the curator of the event is the Paralimni Gymnasium.

Also on Monday 31 March 2025 at 19:30 at the Xenion amphitheatre, the Municipality of Paralimni - Derynia is holding an event to mark the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the National Liberation Struggle of EOKA 1955-59, with the presentation of the excellent musical performance "Timokypre" by the Romiosyn Cultural Association, while on the day of the National Anniversary, on April 1, 2025, a solemn Doxology will be held at the Metropolitan Church of St. George of Paralimni. The Government will be represented by the Minister of Health Mr. Michael Damianos.
