The concert by the Famagusta Traditional Music Orchestra featuring Maria Anamaterou and Socrates Sinopoulos was captivating

The concert by the Famagusta Traditional Music Orchestra, titled “Like a Prayer,” featuring Maria Anamaterou and Socrates Sinopoulos, captivated the audience.

At the packed “Xenion” Amphitheater in Paralimni, the Famagusta Traditional Music Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Michalis Kouloumis, presented a well-rounded and high-quality musical program featuring Byzantine hymns of Holy Week and the Resurrection, featuring Greek singer Maria Anamaterou, as well as the renowned lyre player, internationally acclaimed musician, and composer Socrates Sinopoulos. The concert also featured the Byzantine Choir “Tropaiophoros,” conducted by Christos Ioannou.

The event was addressed by Deputy Minister of Culture Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou, while greetings were also delivered by the Deputy Mayor of Paralimni, Mr. Kleanthis Koutsoftas, on behalf of the Mayor of Paralimni – Deryneia, and the Director of the “Agios Epifanios” Cultural Academy, Dr. Christina Kakoura.

The concert was part of the 2nd Festival of Traditional Culture “Voices and Memories,” organized by the Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia in collaboration with the “Agios Epifanios” Cultural Academy from March 28 to April 26, 2026, and is held under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Culture.
