On Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Perivoli of Agios Georgios in Paralimni, the presentation of Nikola Louka’s project and photography exhibition titled “Paralimni Textures” as part of the 2nd Festival of Traditional Culture “Voices and Memories.”
The project “Paralimni Textiles” represents an initial effort to collect and document garments preserved in Paralimni. Clothing, footwear, jewelry, and other items of attire emerged as significant artifacts of local heritage, weaving connections and relationships across time. Clothing and people were captured through the lens of Nikolaos Loukas and presented in a photographic exhibition, which forms the core of the project.
The exhibition is being held in Mitropoleos Square in Paralimni, where it will remain open to the public. The presentation was followed by a musical performance by the vocal ensemble “Kalesma,” featuring musicians Paris Paraschou, Anastasia Zakynthinou, Frederiki Tombazou, Savvas Lagou, Katerina Paraschou, and Charalambos Pantelis.
The creative concept and research for the project were developed by the “Agios Epifanios” Cultural Academy, while the documentation was carried out by the “Para ti Limni” Cultural Workshop. The presentation took place as part of the 2nd Festival of Traditional Culture “Voices and Memories” March–April 2026, which is co-organized by the Municipality of Paralimni–Deryneia and the “Agios Epifanios” Cultural Academy and is held under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Culture.
