The 15th Pan-Cyprian Deryneia Strawberry Festival, organized by the Municipality of Paralimni–Deryneia, was held with great success on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Deryneia Anagennisi Stadium.

The grand festival in Deryneia attracted thousands of visitors and stands out every year as the most successful festival for promoting agricultural products in all of Cyprus in terms of organization, attendance, and volunteer participation. Hundreds of volunteers worked with dedication and played a decisive role in ensuring the smooth running of an event that honors Deryneia’s local fruit, showcases the region’s agricultural identity, and strengthens its cultural outreach.

The festival was held under the auspices of the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, Mr. Marinos Mousiouttas, who delivered a welcoming address. Greetings were also delivered by the Mayor of Paralimni – Deryneia, Mr. George Nikoletos, and the Deputy Mayor of Deryneia, Mr. Nikos Lillis, who emphasized the importance of the festival for Deryneia, for the municipality, and for promoting the strawberry as a hallmark of local production.

Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed a rich program of arts and entertainment, including traditional Cypriot music, children’s theater, a cooking demonstration, a strawberry pastry contest, a silent disco, a sand art performance, and the grand concert featuring Giorgos Tsalikis and Konstantinos Christoforou. The venue also featured stalls selling handmade crafts, strawberry products and delicacies, as well as a children’s play area.

The Municipality of Paralimni–Deryneia extends its warmest thanks to all the volunteers, the organizers, participants, producers, partners, and the public who embraced the Pan-Cyprian Deryneia Strawberry Festival once again this year, contributing to the success of an event that is a source of pride for Deryneia and the entire Municipality.
