The 12th Interschool Conference was held on Friday, February 7, 2025, organized by the Management, the Teachers and the students of the High School "Peace and Freedom" of Deryneia - Sotiras, in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Dr.Maria Panayiotou.
During his address, the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia said, among other things, that the theme of the conference, "The Liberation Struggle of EOKA 1955-59, 70 Years Later", is a milestone for historical memory and a valuable opportunity to reflect on the greatness of that period that determined the course of our country.
The Mayor congratulated the management, the teachers and the students of the "Peace and Freedom" High School of Dherynia - Sotera for their initiative, noting that the organization of the conference highlights the importance of historical memory and the preservation of national identity, especially for young people, who are, as he said, the future of the country. He also thanked the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment for her presence as a keynote speaker, contributing to deepening the debate on this leading chapter of history.
