The Municipality of Paralimni–Deryneia is announcing a call for expressions of interest for the award of the contract to fully organize the 15th Pan-Cyprian Strawberry Festival, which takes place annually at the Deryneia Anagennisi Stadium and is one of Cyprus’s largest cultural and agrotourism events, attracting over 15,000 visitors. The call for expressions of interest concerns the 15th Pan-Cyprian Strawberry Festival, which will take place on May 29, 2026.
1. Scope of the Contract and Contractor’s Obligations
The Contractor shall assume full organizational, technical, and operational responsibility for the Festival, including:
- Booth and Exhibitor Management
- Layout of areas (VIP, buffet, booths, accessible areas, strawberry growers, playground, main stage)
- Marketing and Communications
- Coordination of staff and volunteers
- Evening medical coverage
- Safety and Crowd Management Plan
- Cleanliness and Environmental Management Plan
- Program preparation
- Organizing the venue and managing all aspects of the event, such as decorations, entertainment, equipment, promotional materials, etc.
- Coordinating tasks and collaborating with the head of the municipal workforce and the Municipality’s Cultural Department, and managing the requirements of their work to ensure the proper organization of the“15th Strawberry Festival – 2026”
- Responsibility for managing the dismantling of the“15th Strawberry Festival – 2026”
- Ongoing communication/collaboration with the Municipality of Paralimni–Deryneia
- Comply with all safety and public order regulations.
- Obtain all necessary permits.
- Organize a clear VIP protocol.
To provide for:
- A reception system for dignitaries, for a buffet.
- A sufficient number of eco-friendly and conventional toilets.
- Accessibility for people with disabilities.
- Parking and traffic guidance signage.
- A sufficient number of bins and skips.
- Proper management of strawberry production and harvesting.
- Ensure that there are no unlicensed street vendors.
- Submit a media campaign plan (television, radio, digital).
- Review of the“15th Strawberry Festival – 2026” following its conclusion
- Budget preparation during the planning phase and preparation of a detailed income and expense statement upon completion.
- The Municipality of Paralimni–Deryneia is not required to accept the lowest bid. The selection will be based on a combination of requirements
- The Municipality of Paralimni–Deryneia reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or terminate the recruitment/award process at any stage, without being obligated to award the contract and without any obligation to compensate the candidates.
2. Minimum Contractor Specifications
The applicant must:
- Must have proven experience organizing festivals with over 10,000 attendees.
- Submit a comprehensive organizational proposal.
- Proposes a specific project team with a designated coordinator.
3. Business Model
The cost of the event must strictly remain within the limits set by the Municipality. Any excess costs must be paid by the organizer in question.

6. Term of the Agreement
The collaboration begins on the date the agreement is signed and continues until the submission of the evaluation report for the“15th Strawberry Festival – 2026,” no later than June5, 2026.
Deadline for submitting expressions of interest
Expressions of interest, accompanied by the required documents, must be submitted in sealed envelopes marked “Call for Expressions of Interest for the Organization of the‘15th Strawberry Festival – 2026’” by April 9, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., to the offices of the Deryneia Municipal District.
