Meeting of the Mayor of Paralimni - Derynia with the Rectorate of the University of West Attica

The Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nicolettos, had a meeting with the Rector and the Vice Rectors of the University of West Attica in Athens these days.

The meeting took place in the framework of contacts that Mr. George Nicolettos has with Academic Institutions of Greece with the aim of creating branches of Greek Universities in the Municipality of Paralimnii - Deryneia.

As reported, Mr. Nikolettos, the meeting was completed in a very positive atmosphere and a tour of the infrastructure of the Academic Foundation was conducted. He noted that the Municipality's goal is to attract branches of Greek universities, which, as he said, will enrich the academic level of the region, attract more people to the area and contribute to the improvement of the professional, social, cultural and economic level of the entire region. He also stressed that the region is ideal for the creation of university annexes due to, among other things, the low cost of living, the proximity to Larnaca International Airport, the natural beauty of the area, the ease of travel and the tourist and industrial infrastructure that can contribute to the specialization, employment and employment of students.

It should be noted that the University of West Attica has the School of Administration, Economics and Social Sciences (which includes, among others, the Department of Tourism Studies), the School of Public Health, the School of Food Sciences, the School of Health and Welfare Sciences, the School of Applied Arts and Culture and the School of Engineering. It also offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies as well as Foreign Language Study Programmes and Lifelong Learning, Erasmus+ and Internship programmes.
