The Mayor of Paralimnii - Deryneia, Mr. George Nicolettos, recently had a meeting with the Commissioner for the Environment, Mrs. Antonia Theodosiou, in his office. During the meeting, issues of stray/abandoned dog management were discussed, as well as the issue of the creation of a Regional Temporary Care Facility for Stray Dogs in Famagusta District.

Mr.Nicolettos informed the Commissioner for the Environment on various issues related to her responsibilities, such as the implementation of the legislation by the Municipality regarding the obligation to register and secure a license to own dogs, an initiative that is an important step towards the promotion of responsible ownership and aims to solve the important problem of dog abandonment.

Both the Mayor of Paralimnii - Deryneia and the Commissioner for the Environment confirmed the cooperation of the two bodies on both environmental issues and on the management of stray animals.
