The handover ceremony of the Command of the 7th Mechanized Infantry Brigade took place in a moving atmosphere on Friday 21 March 2025 between the outgoing Commander, Brigadier Manolis Manolis and the new Commander Colonel Marios Houvarta.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia Mr. George Nicoletos who thanked the outgoing Commander, Brigadier General Manolis Manolis for his contribution, dedication and valuable contribution to the defense and security of Famagusta province. Mr. Nicolettos made special mention of the excellent and constructive cooperation that the Municipality had with the Brigade's Command and units, for which he expressed his conviction that it will continue with the new Command. He also congratulated the new Commander, Colonel Mario Hoovardas, on his assumption of office and wished him success.
