The Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia announces that on October 11, 2026, the 1st Cablenet Famagusta Run will take place, during which the road network will be affected from 6 a.m. until 12 p.m. in the wider tourist area of the Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia (primarily Pernera and Protaras). For this reason, residents, visitors, and workers in the area are asked to be understanding during the event and to follow the guidelines issued by the Municipality’s Traffic Control Service to ensure the race proceeds smoothly and safely.

On Sunday, October 11, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., temporary road closures and traffic restrictions will be in effect on the streets of the “ ” tourist area, as well as at their intersections and side streets, as follows:

1. At 6:00 a.m., access from the intersection of Kavo Greko Street (GRECIAN PARK roundabout) and Konnou Avenue will be restricted to residents and employees only, up to the KONNOSS/M MESANA supermarket. At 8:00 a.m., the road will reopen.
2. Konnou Avenue, from its intersection with Protaras–Kavo Greko Avenue to the KONNOSS/M MESANA supermarket, will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
3. Protaras–Cavo Greco Avenue, from its intersection with Dionysou Street ( Starlight Garden restaurant) to its intersection with Konnou Avenue, only the left lane heading toward Ayia Napa will be closed for the race from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Vehicle traffic will be directed from Ayia Napa toward Protaras.
4. Protaras Street – Hotel Road will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. from its intersection with the traffic lights on Protaras Avenue – Cape Greco (next to the SPHINX bar) to the traffic lights next to the FOLIO restaurant. Aiantos Street and part of Thali Street will also be closed .
5. Lefkollas Street & Mantaliou Street: A section of Lefkollas Street will be closed from its intersection with Protara Street to its intersection with Mantaliou Street, as well as the entire length of Mantaliou Street.
6. Athinas Street: The left lane will be closed from its intersection with Euclid Street in the direction of Mantaliou Street.
7. Aphrodite Street (next to the ANASTASIA Hotel): The left lane will be closed starting at the intersection with Athinas Street, in the direction of Perneras–Mantalou Avenue.
8. Perneras Avenue: From its intersection with Mantaliou Street to its intersection with Protara–Kavo Greko Avenue, the left lane will be closed for the race in the direction of Protara–Kavo Greko Avenue. Additionally, from the location of the SPEEDY GONZALES restaurant, access will be restricted to residents, buses, and taxis.
9. Protaras Avenue – Cape Greco: It will be closed from its intersection with Perneras Avenue (traffic lights—Mantalí Restaurant) to the roundabout at the intersection of Protaras Avenue and Tinos Avenue (Agia Triada).
10. The road from the Agios Panteleimonas roundabout to the traffic lights on Protaras Avenue – Cape Greco (Panikos Loukoumades) will be closed to traffic.
11. On Protaras Avenue – from its intersection with Akefalou Street (Prophet Elias traffic lights) toward Paralimni, access will be permitted only to residents, workers in the Pernera and Yianna Marie areas, as well as buses and taxis.

CAUTION:

THOSE WHO WORK IN THE PROFETI ILIA AND PROTARA AREAS FROM 6:00 a.m. TO 11:00 a.m. SHOULD USE AGIOS PANTELIMON STREET TOWARD PROFITIS ILIAS AND FANOU.

THOSE WHO WORK AT THE RESTAURANT STARLIGHT NEAR KONNO FROM 6:00 a.m. TO 8:00 a.m. SHOULD TRAVEL FROM AGIA NAPA TO PROTARA.

Vehicles are prohibited from traveling along the entire route where the roads will be closed; therefore, when residents leave their homes, they must follow the instructions and directions of the people stationed nearby to ensure the safety of both the runners and themselves.

The public is asked to comply with the temporary traffic signs and the instructions of the police and all workers at the road closures to avoid further inconvenience.
