Photography exhibition: 365 Sunrises in Kappari

Paralimni

The Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia is inaugurating a photography exhibition by former journalist and winter swimmer Kyriakos Kyriakou entitled "365 Sunrises in Kapparis" on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The photography exhibition will take place in the event hall of the Paralimni – Deryneia Town Hall and will remain open to the public until March 9, 2026.

The inauguration will be performed by the Mayor of Paralimni – Deryneia, Mr. George Nicolettos, under whose auspices the event is being organized, while the exhibition will be introduced by Ms. Themis Anthopoulou, President of the Cyprus Confederation of Disabled People (KYSOA).

The theme of the exhibition focuses exclusively on the magic of sunrise on the beaches of the Kappari area. Every dawn, a unique scene unfolds before the lens: the sun rises from the sea, its rays spreading across the crystal-clear waters and bathing the lace-like coastline in colors that are never repeated in the same way.

Kyriakos Kyriakou, faithful to his daily rendezvous with the sea, winter and summer, combines his morning swim with capturing the dawn. Next to the wire fence of the coastline of occupied Famagusta, he immortalises moments of silent power and deep emotion, transforming light into memory and image into experience.

Kyriakos Kyriakou holds a degree in Journalism and has worked in print journalism for two decades. He was the Director of Press, Communications, and Public Relations at Cyprus Airways, and then worked with electronic media and wrote a book. Today, he enjoys writing, nature, and the sea, with photography being his creative outlet. He lives in Deryneia, is married, and is the father of two adult children.

Free entrance.
