In a special event held on Thursday 20 February 2025 outside the Town Hall of Paralimni - Deryneia, the new King of Famagusta Carnival 2025 was crowned. The new King of Famagusta Carnival 2025 is the well-known actor Alkis Christou who will embody the "King of the Seas - Aquaking" in this year's parade. The scepter was handed over by last year's King, Dimitris (Pepe) Tsierkezo.

In his address the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia Mr. George Nicolettos thanked the new and the outgoing King of the Carnival of Famagusta, the Organizing Committee, the members of the Municipal Council as well as all the workers and staff of the Municipality and all the volunteers of the Carnival who contribute with their efforts for flawless organization and upgrading of events.

The new King, Alkis Christou, will be introduced as "King of the Seas - Aquaking".

It is recalled that the programme of the Carnival Events in Famagusta province includes, among others, the Evening Parade on Saturday 1 March and the Grand Carnival Parade of Famagusta at 2 o'clock on Sunday 2 March 2025 in the main streets of Paralimni.
